last night was halloween and i played a set with br'er at chernobyl in west philly. i dressed up as br'er. here are some photos (taken by Emily Kohl-Mattingly).

Ugh God also played and were really awesome. my roommate katie dressed up as a blunt, which was obviously the coolest costume there.

Dreamy Pop Song II RETURNS!

hello.

lately i have been working on random songs here and there. ever since i lent out my macbook to my bandmate darian production has been slow. i left all of my raw music files on his computer, so i have to go get them from him tomorrow. i have been working a lot with br'er and doing recording whenever i can. tonight i finished the frilly philly version of Dreamy Pop Song II (from the previous eskimeaux release "iglu songs").  it will be officially released on The (upcoming) Windstar EP.

Br'er is going to be playing live on 91.7 WKDU radio on Monday, September 22nd. If you don't live in or around the greater Philadelphia area, you probably don't get this station. But never fear! i feel like a total douchebag; i'm sitting outside of The Last Drop in my new city (because i can't afford to go inside and buy something) stealin their wifi so i can blog. go me.
in other news, i live in philadelphia now. i am living with my friend kate and her boyfriend cody and it is very nice, but also a little bit stressful. i haven't recorded anything since i released Helleaux, so i'm going to get on that so everyone can revel in gay.

i have a new album coming out, it is called Helleaux. as of now, there are no words on it. but i plan to make it at least 18 tracks long. as of now, there are only 7 and 1/2 tracks. it's gonna be fun.

here is what i (don't) have to say.

pandora radio is a life saver, but it's also really depressing. for those of you who haven't heard of it, pandora radio is an internet simulated personally tailored radio. you type in an artist or song that you are in the mood to listen to and it creates a playlist of artists including and related to the one you requested. for example, when i typed in pavement my playlist started with Billie from Terror Twilight and then continued with pixies, superchunk, modest mouse, the strokes, the sea and cake, guided by voices, nirvana, and yo la tengo (so far). you can then go on to give the "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" to the songs selected so that it can further narrow the aesthetic spectrum. my problems began when i started listening to the pavement playlist and suddenly got an urge to listen to Old To Begin. i tried to make an old to begin playlist, but pandora never played it and you can only be unsatisfied so many times before a little pop-up pops up and yells in your face telling you that you simply cannot skip so many songs. now i am generally frustrated and i have old to begin stuck in my head. pandora is great, though, for people like me who are stupid and poor and commit to 9-5 jobs from mom (thus making me an unnecessary and very bored employee, hence why i have condemned myself to blogging (BECAUSE MY OPINION MATTERS)).
